What’s the deal with all these triangles?

Neither I imagined that I would really work on another poster after finishing the coin one but here it is, a new graphic experiment!

This one started as an idea for a collaborative project. I should start the poster with the phrase “you can’t _________ creativity” and send the file to some of my friends, hoping to receive some original results, each one with a unique phrase and style. I started sketching but when I jumped to Illustrator I just couldn’t hold myself. I designed the phrase but the style was too strong and that was no good, because it would make it harder to mix styles. I didn’t want to discard what I had so far, so I continued it on my own.

I was planning to do it entirely in Illustrator, but I could hear Photoshop calling, asking to participate on that, so I finished it there and I think it was a good decision (faster for sure…).

It has some similarities with the first poster, the horizontal movement which starts on the top, forms the content and ends in the bottom and the triangular pattern in the background (do some research on posters and graphic inspirations on the web, you will find out several examples which applied triangles in some way to the composition, its an epidemic trend…).

I think I left too much free space on the top-left corner but its not bad, I’m happy with the final thing! You can download the printable version on Flickr or the iPhone wallpaper here.

UPDATE: Fabrizio send me his own idea for the poster, click here to see the gallery or here to download the crude file if you want to participate!
